Meghan McCain made it clear to Kari Lake on Wednesday that there will be no letting go of past grudges.

Lake, a former Arizona gubernatorial candidate now running for Senate, addressed McCain in a lengthy post on X, formerly Twitter, in which she encouraged her to let go of “past grudges” and declared she wanted to make the late John McCain “proud,” despite having attacked him as a “loser” in 2022.

“Hi Meghan, As mothers, (both with two kiddos) I’m know we both agree that our children’s future is too important to let it slip away over past grudges or hurt feelings,” Lake wrote. “That’s why I’m working hard to unite Republicans, Independents, Democrats — ALL Americans.”

Lake went on to talk about her father passing away from cancer and told Meghan McCain she’d love to grab a beer or coffee so she can “pick” her brain.

“I want to make Senator McCain and Larry Lake proud,” Lake wrote. “I value you. I value your family and I value the passion you have for our state. I’d love nothing more than to buy you a beer, a coffee or lunch and pick your brain about how we can work together to strengthen our state.”

Lake offered a “God bless” and said they hoped they could connect soon, but she didn’t need to wait long for an answer.

“NO PEACE, BITCH!” McCain wrote.

It was an all-caps version of a message McCain previously sent to Lake after the Republican walked back her past comments on her father, chalking them up to campaign talk and insisting the late senator would have laughed off her insults. Lake is a close ally of Donald Trump, and the former president famously feuded with John McCain before his passing in 2018.

“Kari Lake is trying to walk back her continued attacks on my Dad (& family) and all of his loyal supporters after telling them to ‘get the hell out.’ Guess she realized she can’t become a Senator without us,” McCain wrote on X.

In a wide-ranging KTAR interview on Monday, Lake told Republicans to grow a “thicker skin” when pressed on her McCain comments.

At a November 2022 rally, Lake said, “We don’t have any McCain Republicans in here, do we? Get the hell out!” She then referred to the Vietnam veteran and longtime senator as an example of a “loser” out of Arizona.

“I breathe fire for my family and never forgive those who have trashed any of us – particularly my Dad in death,” Meghan McCain wrote on Wednesday. “Never.”
