Lara Trump Contrasts ‘Phony’ Kamala Harris With Trump Being ‘Shot In The Head’ In DNC Reaction
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump ripped Democratic candidate Kamala Harris as “radical” and a “phony” as she sought to contrast Harris’s convention appearance with what she viewed as former President Donald Trump’s resilience after he was “shot in the head” two days before his party’s convention.
Lara Trump, who is the daughter-in-law of the Republican nominee, appeared on Fox News to speak with host Sean Hannity in an analysis of the first day at the Democratic National Convention.
“We have to tell the American people exactly who Kamala Harris is,” Trump said, before accusing Harris of delivering a speech that “told you absolutely nothing.”
Trump told Hannity that if voters were not already aware of Harris’s “radical positions,” her appearance at the DNC would reveal the “phony” nature of both the candidate and her party.
In comparison, she highlighted the recent assassination attempt on her father-in-law’s life. She said: “Look at Donald Trump. Two days before our convention, he’s shot in the head. He shows up at our convention. He’s there every single day. He’s there for all the major speeches.”
Praising Trump’s “transparency,” Lara Trump suggested that Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, would bring a disastrous leadership to the White House and nothing new, likening another Democratic term to “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on steroids.”
Rounding on the speech again, Trump added: “We just heard for, I guess it was two minutes from Kamala with absolutely no substance, nothing on policy. The only policy she has, of course, she ripped off from Donald Trump or straight out of communist playbooks. It’s terrifying and crazy but we’re going to make sure that the American people know exactly who this woman is come November 5th.”
