President Joe Biden met with Mariah Carey and played All I Want For Christmas Is You on his phone during a White House Christmas video published on Thursday.
“It’s time!” wrote Biden on X, Thursday, attached to a video of his meeting with Carey.
In the video, Biden could be seen greeting Carey at the door and saying, “Hello Mariah, how are you?”
“I’m a fan,” he added, to which Carey replied, “I’m a fan.”
Biden then remarked, “I just want you to know…” before playing Carey’s 1994 Christmas hit All I Want For Christmas Is You.
“Come on,” he continued, leading Carey away for a tour of the White House.
The video — which received more than 2 million views and 40,000 likes — concluded with Carey tying a bauble to Biden’s Christmas tree and declaring, “Now it’s perfect.”
On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump accused Biden of not being religious enough during the holiday season and claimed Christmas was “under siege.”
“When Joe Biden lit the national Christmas tree earlier this month, he completely failed to even mention the birth of Jesus Christ, which is hard to do if you celebrated Christmas,” Trump protested. “He didn’t mention Jesus Christ in his remarks, not for three years he hasn’t mentioned that and barely mentioned God.”
First Lady Jill Biden also came under fire from Republicans this month after she posted a White House Christmas tap dancing performance of the Nutcracker.
Fox News host Laura Ingraham accused Biden of “reaching out to the flag burners and the America haters” with the tap dancing performance and told her viewers, “They wanted to offend you, they did it on purpose.”
