John Bolton Suggests Assad Regime Has Dirt On Tulsi Gabbard That Syrian Rebels Could Reveal if They Succeed: ‘Going to be Very Interesting to See’
Former national security adviser John Bolton suggested during a CNN interview that the Assad regime has files on Tulsi Gabbard.
President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Gabbard to serve his incoming administration as the director of national intelligence. Her nominations is surrounded in controversy due to Gabbard anti-interventionist foreign policy views.
Back in 2017, Gabbard met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad amidst his country’s deadly civil war and later claimed he was not an enemy to the United States. Recently, anti-Assad rebels have taken large swaths of land throughout the country and Assad government looks to be on the brink of falling apart.
During an interview on CNN, Bolton claimed that Assad regime may have files “about a number of Americans.”
I think she’s totally unqualified to be DNI, and I think her positions put her beyond the outermost fringe of American politics.
When she visited Assad in Syria, he was effectively a Russian Iranian ally. And what she said about Syria not being a direct threat to the United States, that was her justification for going is completely false. The Syrians and their combination with Iran and Hezbollah have posed direct threats to Americans across the region. They certainly pose a direct threat to key American allies, Israel and Jordan.
And it’s going to be very interesting to see what the files that may be uncovered in the Syrian government if the rebels succeed in capturing Damascus, what they show about a number of Americans.
