Trump Posts Tearful Photos of George Conway Wearing MAGA Hat At His 2016 Victory Party
Former President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Thursday to post tearful photos of George Conway wearing a MAGA hat at his 2016 victory party.
Amid his hush money criminal trial in New York City, the Republican nominee took time out of his day to hit back at Conway, a former ally turned critic, by posting pictures of him celebrating Trump’s ascension to the presidency.
Moreover, Trump added another jab to the post by referring to Conway as “Mr. Kellyanne Conway,” referring to Conway’s ex-wife and former Trump 2016 campaign manager.
Trump wrote, “Mr. Kellyanne Conway celebrating my Victory in 2016!” One image showed George tearful as he took a selfie with Kellyanne, while another photo caught the former MAGA supporter smiling as he photographed Trump’s reaction to the election results.
Shortly after Trump was elected in 2016, the former president considered appointing Conway to the position of Solicitor General, but Conway withdrew himself from consideration. A year later into Trump’s presidency, Conway emerged as a vocal Trump critic even as his wife Kellyanne worked in the administration.
Conway would go on to join other former Republicans to found the Lincoln Project, a political organization dedicated to thwarting Trump’s re-election efforts.
