‘The Race is Tied?!’ Colin Jost Runs Down Litany of Trump’s Legal Woes in Scorching Rant at WHCD

Colin Jost took a break from his SNL Weekend Update duties Saturday to take digs at President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump as the host of the 2024 White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Jost drew peals of laughter from the crowd, made up of celebrities and members of the media, when he expressed dismay that Trump and Biden were running neck-and-neck.

“There is an election six extremely long months from now. So, let me see if I can summarize where this race stands at this moment,” Jost said. “The Republican candidate for president owes half a billion in fines for bank fraud, and is currently spending his days farting himself awake during a porn star hush money trial, and the race is tied?! The race is tied. Nothing makes sense anymore.”

Jost continued, “The candidate, who is a famous New York City playboy, took abortion rights away, and the guy who’s trying to give you back your abortion rights is an 80-year-old Catholic. How does that make sense?”

The AP reported that Saturday’s event “drew nearly 3,000 people.” Celebrities included Jost’s wife, actor Scarlett Johansson; Molly Ringwald; Da’Vine Joy Randolph; Jon Hamm, and Caitlyn Jenner. Biden administration officials included Alejandro Mayorkas, secretary of homeland security; Janet Yellen, secretary of the treasury; and  Bill Burns, CIA director.
