‘Can I Talk About Water?’ Kari Lake Totally Dodges Question About Her Bogus 2022 Election Claims
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake dodged a question from Democratic Rep. Ruben Gallego about her false claims about the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election.
Lake, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump for a second time, debated her Democratic opponent on Wednesday night. A former local television news anchor, Lake has falsely claimed the 2020 presidential election was rigged against Trump, and falsely insists her narrow loss to Katie Hobbs in 2022 was also the result of a fixed process.
Lake and Gallego are vying for the Senate seat being vacated by independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, who opted not to run for reelection.
“We need to make sure we are dealing with the drought caused by climate change,” Gallego said during the debate. “She’s still in denial about climate change. We should not be surprised by this. She’s still in denial about the 2022 election. And now, I give you one minute. You have one minute. Will you finally tell the people of Arizona, did you win or lose that election?”
“Can we, can I talk about water really quickly?” she responded. “Because I thought we were gonna do water.”
“Please talk about water,” the moderator replied.
“Let’s talk about water,” she said. “He’s had 10 years in Congress, and he has done nothing.” She went on say that the state “can’t conserve its way” out of drought.
Lake has repeatedly claimed that the 2022 gubernatorial election was rigged against her, going so far as to proclaim herself “the duly elected governor of Arizona.”
