Biden Campaign Co-Chair Praises Fox’s Larry Kudlow’s ‘Mea Culpa’ On Doomsday Economic Predictions

The national co-chair for Biden-Harris 2024 thanked Fox News’ Larry Kudlow for admitting his doomsday prediction on the economy was wrong.

Mitch Landrieu appeared on MSNBC’s The Weekend on Sunday to celebrate Biden’s primary victory in South Carolina and to discuss the 2024 campaign.

He was asked to react to Fox News’ Larry Kudlow’s on-air apology for predicting economic chaos.

“Mea culpa, I was wrong about the slowdown and recession. So was the entire forecasting,” Kudlow said last week on Fox Business Network.

“Larry, thank you for saying that,” Landrieu said on MSNBC’s The Weekend. “I wish more people would step up to the plate.” Landrieu continued:

One of the reasons why people have doubts is because, for the last, year every major economist basically put their foot on Joe Biden’s head and said, “What he’s doing is wrong. We’re gonna have a recession, we’re not gonna have economic growth. There is no way that you have a soft landing.” And, of course, the president has proved everybody wrong. We have the strongest economy in the world.

Now, we know the prices are still high. That’s why the president is fighting with the pharmaceutical industries to lower prescription costs. That’s why he’s made sure he put a cap on the amount of money people have to pay for their prescriptions. We’ve gotten the cost of insulin down. That’s why he’s fighting those fights every day.

But, it is absolutely true that there has been a huge amount of handwringing and bed-wetting that has turned out to be completely wrong, not just a little bit wrong. And I think Joe Biden’s going to be proven right. And I think that, as I have said, this is going to lead to his reelection. Because this is literally about saving our democracy, and then lifting up everybody from the bottom up, in the middle up, so that everybody is involved in this great American dream. Because diversity is our strength. Our indivisibility is our strength. Joe Biden understands that. He is in the moment, and I think he’s going to do much better than everybody has expected him to do.

Biden swept the democratic primary in South Carolina Saturday with more than 96 percent of the vote, followed by Marianne Williamson and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN).
