One of this college football Saturday’s wildest moments didn’t unfold on a Big Ten or SEC football field but on the sideline of a Sun Belt Conference game when Louisiana–Monroe offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship went nuts on one of his players during the game.

Blankenship repeatedly shoved the young man during his team’s 28-23 loss to the Marshall University Thundering Herd.

One video of the aggressive “coaching” went viral on social media Saturday, racking up nearly nine million views:

Prior to absolutely losing his mind on an innocent headset, Blankenship could be seen barking at offensive lineman Drew Hutchinson.

After the sophomore was subbed out of the game, Blankenship got in his face, screamed at him, and shoved him several times before he was quickly restrained by two other players.

What exactly set off the coach was not clear. Louisiana–Monroe rushed for 205 yards against Marshall but the team did allow three sacks on quarterback Aidan Armenta.

ULM’s athletic department announced in a Saturday night statement that Blankenship would be disciplined:

In Saturday’s game at Marshall, Assistant Coach Cameron Blankenship made physical contact with a ULM student-athlete on the sideline. This behavior is unacceptable and not how ULM football conducts business. There will be disciplinary action taken against the assistant coach. Because this is a personnel matter, the discipline will be handled internally.
