Fox News Guest Says ‘I Don’t Understand Why Hunter Biden Gets Away with These Things’ While He Is Literally on Trial for Those Things
As jury selection began in Hunter Biden’s federal criminal trial in Delaware, a Fox News guest wondered why he “gets away” with alleged legal infractions.
President Joe Biden’s son has been charged with three felonies relating to a gun he bought in 2018. Hunter Biden, who said he was a crack addict at the time, is charged with lying to a federally licensed gun dealer, falsely claiming he was not an addict when he bought the gun, and illegally possessing the firearm for 11 days.
The younger Biden’s trial is getting underway just four days after former President Donald Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in New York. Trump and Joe Biden are set to face each other again in November’s presidential election.
Hunter Biden’s lawyers reached a plea agreement with prosecutors last year, but a judge rejected the arrangement when it became clear the two sides did not agree on the scope of the deal. Conservatives have long alleged the president’s son has received undue leniency and touted the judge’s rejection of the plea deal as vindication.
On Monday’s edition of The Story, guest host Trace Gallagher spoke with three voters to discuss Trump’s legal troubles and the 2024 election. During the segment, he asked a pro-Trump New Jersey voter named Theresa about Trump’s prosecution.
“Do you think the fact that they took these misdemeanors – these dead misdemeanors – and they electrified them back to life and then strapped them to three separate felonies without actually indicting him in those felonies?” Gallagher asked.
“I don’t think this is a fair trial,” Theresa responded. “The whole double standard is what’s getting me so mad. You know? They’re pounding on him and they’re beating him down and cutting him down. And I don’t understand why Hunter Biden gets away with these things, Hillary Clinton. It just– to me, it just gets me so angry and so excited to go vote for him in November.”
As she spoke, a window in the bottom right corner of the screen aired the scene outside the courthouse with the caption, “NOW: HUNTER BIDEN JURY SELECTION.”
