CNN’s Jim Acosta Shuts Down Trump Chief Lewandowski After He Refuses To Correctly Pronounce ‘Kamala’

CNN anchor Jim Acosta blew off Trump campaign senior adviser Corey Lewandowski after a contentious interview during which Lewandowski refused to correctly pronounce Vice President Kamala Harris’s name.

Lewandowski was a guest on Wednesday’s edition of CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta, during which Acosta challenged him on a raft of statements and actions by former President Donald Trump, as well as Sen. JD Vance’s (R-OH) debate performance.

He also repeatedly challenged Lewandowski to stop mispronouncing the VP’s name, including to close out the interview. When Lewandowski refused, a frustrated Acosta said “Maybe we’ll have you back”:

JIM ACOSTA: Corey, can you say that Haitian migrants are not eating pets in Springfield?

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: Can you say, you know what I can say, Jim? I can say that 13,099 murderers were let into this country, 16,000 rapes, 425,000 people in the last four years have been let into this country by by Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s own Customs and Border Protection that are running around this country.

JIM ACOSTA: The other thing, too, It’s Kamala Harris. I don’t know. Is there why do you guys say, KaMALa? That is, it’s Kamala Harris. I just–.

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: Jim, we know that they’re committing crimes against Americans. Why? Why can’t these individuals talk about the individuals who’ve been killed by illegal immigrants…

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: …And it goes to show you the politics of the top of the administration, whether it’s my caucus or it’s Kamala or it’s Joe Biden. I’ll tell you this.

JIM ACOSTA: Corey, you can’t say? What is this, KaMAHla? It’s Kamala Harris. Corey, you’ve been in this business a long time. You’re I think you’re a mature, grown up. It’s Kamala Harris. Can you just say can you say Kamala or you cannot say Kamala?

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: Jim, can you–

JIM ACOSTA: What’s going on there?

COREY LEWANDOWSKI: — murderers that come into the country?

JIM ACOSTA: Yeah. Well, Corey, you know, I appreciate you coming on. Maybe we’ll have you back. Thanks for your time.

Deliberately mispronouncing the VP’s name is a popular feature of MAGA-world trolling that has been singled out by many commentators as an unsubtle racist way of diminishing Harris.
