CNN’s Jim Acosta Flays Pro-Trump Guest Bitterly Complaining He Got Ambushed with Questions That Weren’t In The Rundown

CNN anchor Jim Acosta concluded a brawl of an interview by hammering Georgia Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon when he complained about being asked questions that weren’t included in the rundown producers sent him.

McKoon and Acosta faced off in what turned into an absolute fracas on Thursday’s edition of CNN Newsroom With Jim Acosta when Acosta challenged McKoon over claims that he called “horsecrap!”

Apparently there were topics that McKoon wanted to get to that weren’t given the attention he wanted, because as Acosta wrapped up the interview, McKoon accused Acosta’s producers of “lying.”

Acosta then spent an additional two minutes lecturing his guest on being “prepared” for interviews:

JIM ACOSTA: I appreciate you coming on. You were able to talk about early voting. We were talking about all these issues. And I think as the state party chair, you know, you should you should be prepared to answer these kinds of questions.

JOSH MCKOON: I’ll let your viewers decide if we were able to talk about–

JIM ACOSTA: Especially when you’re– your own party officials– (CROSSTALK) say that the vote was secure last time around, but you continue to undermine it. I’m not going to let that fly on this program. I’m very sorry that you continue to do it. But Josh, thank you very much for your time.

JOSH MCKOON: If you want to talk about lying, I’ll just post what your producer sent to me. Okay. Then we can talk about who’s lying.

JIM ACOSTA: Josh, Josh, next time, you know, you got to be prepared for any and all questions. All right? And you’re getting that straight from me. We’ll be right back.

JOSH MCKOON: Look I’ll definitely be prepared–.

JIM ACOSTA: Thank you. We’ll be right back.

JOSH MCKOON: –To talk about omething entirely separate from what you said you were going to talk about.

JIM ACOSTA: Josh? This–.

JOSH MCKOON: Yes sir.

JIM ACOSTA: If you are going to be on this program, obviously you have to answer questions on a variety of subjects, including the assertions that your party, members of your party are making about the upcoming election. I don’t understand why that. That is not rocket science! That that I mean, that just is a given.

JOSH MCKOON: Maybe you don’t know what to producer is communicating to your guests but your producer was very clear on the subjects we would be discussing today.

JIM ACOSTA: And did you talk about it?

JOSH MCKOON: No, not really. I didn’t get to talk about all the things that are happening in early voting. The fact that 16% of the people who have voted–.

JIM ACOSTA: But Josh–.

JOSH MCKOON: –did not vote in 2020, the low propensity voters that we have been chasing for the last year are turning out. They’re turning out in record numbers. That is that because the the the strategy.

JIM ACOSTA: And I appreciate you coming on and saying that But but, Josh, I appreciate you saying that. But if you’re going to come on and undermine people’s confidence in the election process in your state and in this country, (CROSSTALK) you have to you have to have an expectation. You have to have a reasonable expectation you’re going to be challenged on that. I’ve said you have to have an expectation that that’s going to be challenged.

JOSH MCKOON: I said repeatedly, I’ve said repeatedly to you this morning that we’ve got great laws in place, that the election is much more secure than it was in 2020. That’s what I’ve been telling Republican voters all over the state. You need to turnout early. You don’t need to worry about election irregularities. You need to show up and vote, because the way we’re going to win this election is if we have historic turnout from Republican voters.

JIM ACOSTA: And I think we can all agree that we want everybody to vote.

JOSH MCKOON: To vote.

JIM ACOSTA: And we want and we want that participation. We want people to vote. Josh McKoon, thanks for your time. We’ll be right back.
