Joe Walsh Flames Tulsi Gabbard As ‘Putin Cheerleader’ Who Wants to Seek ‘Revenge For Russia’

Former Republican lawmaker Joe Walsh called Tulsi Gabbard “a Putin cheerleader” who he says will seek “revenge” on behalf of Russia if she given a cabinet position in the Donald Trump administration.

Earlier this week, Trump nominated Gabbard to be his director of national intelligence. As the DNI, Gabbard would oversee 18 spy agencies and would be responsible for preparing Trump’s daily intelligence briefing every morning.

She is known for her non-interventionist foreign policy views and has been critical of the defense industry. During the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Gabbard blamed the Biden administration’s decision to not stop Ukraine from joining NATO for Russia’s invasion.

During a Saturday discussion on MSNBC, Walsh was asked about Trump’s recent controversial nominations, including Gabbard and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who Trump has called on to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

Walsh claimed that the goal behind putting Gabbard in charge of U.S. intelligence is “all about revenge for what Russia did in 2016.”

“This is like an a revenge against the Dr. Fauci when it comes to RFK Jr. But Tulsi Gabbard, the best you can say about her is she’s a Putin cheerleader,” Walsh told the panel. “That’s the best you can say. You put her in charge of our intelligence. It’s all about revenge for what Russia did in 2016.”
