‘This Man Is Going Off the Rails Severely’: Stephen Fry Says Elon Musk’s Behavior Led Him to Quit Twitter
British actor and comedian Stephen Fry ripped Elon Musk in a Thursday interview and explained he recently left X (formerly Twitter) over the billionaire CEO’s “woeful” and “narcissistic” behavior.
During a spot on the British radio station LBC, host Andrew Marr asked Fry, 67, about his decision to exit Twitter after Musk purchased the platform in 2022.
“You were out of the first people out of Twitter,” Marr noted.
Fry replied, “Yes, because of him.”
Marr asked, “Just tell people why you left.”
Fry explained:
I began to see signs of woeful and worrying qualities in this Musk man. And I saw him veering off into the kind of – you know, I don’t like to use words like narcissistic personality disorder because he’s not, I’m not a psychiatrist – but the kind of self-obsessed inability to take criticism that one sees in Trump, and one knows from certain people when they drink. But not normal people when they’re sober or thoughtful. It’s certainly not a very British thing, you know. I just thought, “This man is going off the rails severely,” and it seems he’s gone further and further towards the dark side.
Musk has claimed that if former President Donald Trump is not elected to a second term in the White House, he believes there will be no more elections.
During Trump’s return to Butler, Pennsylvania, last weekend following the July assassination attempt against him, the former president was joined by Musk onstage. Musk told Pennsylvanians:
President Trump must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America…So I have I have one want to ask for everyone in the audience, everyone who watches this video and everyone in the live stream. This one request is very important. Register to vote. Okay. And get everyone you know and everyone you don’t know. Drag them to register to vote. There’s only two days left to register to vote in Georgia and Arizona. 48 hours. Like text people now, now, and then make sure they actually do vote. If they don’t. This will be the last election. That’s my prediction. Nothing’s more important.
