WATCH: Hunter Biden Makes Shock Appearance on Capitol Hill For House Hearing, Gets Pummeled With Questions
Hunter Biden faced a barrage of questions from reporters — and then members of Congress — as he made a surprise appearance on Capitol Hill to face the House Oversight Committee’s resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress.
The son of President Joe Biden appeared at the committee’s meeting on Wednesday, held to hear out his contempt resolution. The contempt charge stems from Hunter’s refusal to comply with the committee’s subpoena to legally compel him to give testimony. In a recent news conference in front of the U.S. Capitol, Hunter demanded that he be allowed to testify in an open hearing instead of behind closed doors.
As Hunter walked through the Capitol halls on his way to the hearing, he was swarmed by journalists who peppered him with questions such as “are you worried about being held in contempt?” The president’s son did not answer any questions before walking into the room.
The hearing almost instantly plunged into full-blown mayhem as the committee members fought amongst themselves over the Biden investigation. Democrats demanded that their Republican colleagues allow Hunter to speak before the committee, but they refused.
The drama reached its peak when Hunter walked out of the hearing as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) was about to speak, perhaps anticipating she was going to turn the hearing into another circus over his troubled past.
