‘Refreshing to Hear!’ Fox & Friends Hosts Praise Kash Patel’s Plans to Close FBI Hoover Building and Reopen it as ‘A Museum of the Deep State’
Fox & Friends Sunday hosts praised President-elect Donald Trump’s selection of Kash Patel to head the FBI, calling the MAGA loyalist’s plans to shut down parts of the institution, “refreshing to hear.”
The kudos are in stark contrast to the wave of condemnation that flooded CNN and MSNBC after Trump’s announcement on Truth Social Saturday — with former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe calling it a “terrible development” and Patel himself as “profoundly unqualified.”
Fox and Friends ran a clip of Patel telling the Shawn Ryan Show, “The biggest problem the FBI has had has come out of its intel shops. I’d break that component out of it. I’d shut down the FBI Hoover building on day one, and reopen it the next day as a museum of the Deep State. And I’d take the 7,000 employees that work in that building and send them across America to chase down criminals.”
Will Cain liked what he heard.
“That is, in my opinion, very refreshing to hear,” Cain said, continuing:
That is very dangerous for others to hear and they’ve responded like that calling him, in fact, unqualified and dangerous. But to me, he also represents consistency. If you see the people that Donald Trump has appointed to his cabinet, the common thread — from Pete Hegseth to RFK, from Tulsi Gabbard to Brendan Carr at the FCC , to Kash Patel, to Dr. Jay Bhattacharya at the NIH — is that they all represent what would have been black sheep of the last four years. People marginalized and called conspiracy theorists, but today what they represent is true disrupters.
Co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy added, “If Andrew McCabe is unhappy with this appointment, Americans should feel pretty good about it!”
Patel is a a former federal prosecutor and public defender who served as a national security operative in the first Trump administration. On X, formerly Twitter, Patel spokesperson Erica Knight posted a statement from Patel that read, “It is the honor of a lifetime to be nominated by President Trump to serve as Director of the FBI. Together, we will restore integrity, accountability, and equal justice to our justice system and return the FBI to its rightful mission: protecting the American people.”
KASH PATEL: It is the honor of a lifetime to be nominated by President Trump to serve as Director of the FBI.
Together, we will restore integrity, accountability, and equal justice to our justice system and return the FBI to its rightful mission: protecting the American people.
