Chuck Todd Blasts Biden’s ‘Selfish’ Decision to Run for President Amid Family Tumult: Hunter Turned Beau’s Widow ‘Into a Crack Addict’
Chuck Todd hammered President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s “selfish” actions during a time when their son Hunter Biden was “turning” their grieving daughter-in-law into a crack addict.
Todd sat down for a Monday Zoom interview with fellow DC-based political media insider Chris Cilliza — an excerpt of which the latter shared online — which discussed Biden family turmoil, ostensibly in the context of news that Joe Biden pardoned his son for several criminal actions and ongoing investigations regarding lying on an application for a gun permit and fraudulent tax report.
Todd is the former anchor of NBC’s Meet the Press and, in this clip, at least, not one who is impressed with how the Bidens handled the trauma that enveloped a grieving family following the tragic death of his son Beau Biden.
Todd cites testimony transcripts of Beau’s widow, Hallie Biden, who began a romantic relationship with her dead husband’s brother and, in Todd’s words, was effectively “turned into a crack addict” by Hunter in 2017 and 2018. At this time, amid all the family turmoil, Joe and Jill Biden decided that the time was right to run for the highest office in America.
Todd says:
I followed the Hunter Biden trail very closely. I read every transcript, all the testimony because that’s what, you know, all that was made public. And there is — you want to you want to read, you want to get angry just as a as somebody and just all these mixed emotions. You read the Hallie Biden transcript, and that’s Beau’s widow. And essentially he turned her into a crack addict. And this was all happening in 2017, 2018. And Joe and Jill Biden were so concerned about their family that they decided to run for president. I just … so when you talk about the word selfish, I .. it’s almost like the word doesn’t — I mean — their decision to run for president put the entire Democratic Party and the United States of America in the position that it’s in now.
Todd clearly blames the sorry state of the Democratic Party and, arguably, the divided state of the nation for Biden’s decision to put their own political careers and advancement over the good of the nation and the good of their family.
