CNN’s Chris Wallace Cracks Up At Stephen A. Smith’s Vicious Takedown Of One NFL Team’s Fans

CNN anchor Chris Wallace couldn’t contain his laughter as superstar commentator Stephen A. Smith delivered an over-the-top takedown of one NFL team’s fans.

Wallace interviewed Smith for this week’s edition of his Max series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace on various topics, including the race for the presidency and Smith’s future as his contract is set to expire.

In one exchange, Wallace asked why Smith is so hard on the Dallas Cowboys, and got a comically brutal answer:

WALLACE: One of the things that people who watch you know is that you have some favorite targets, and one of them is a certain football team. That plays in Dallas.

SMITH: Yes.

WALLACE: Take a look.

WALLACE: Why do you hate the Cowboys so much?

SMITH: Because their fans are truly the most nauseating, disgusting fan base in American history. If you go, if they went one in 16 and the season ended on January 5, at 7pm by 7:15 they’ll go, you know, we can win the Super Bowl next year, right? This is who they are. I mean, they don’t. They can pass gas and they’ll tell you, it’s perfume. This is what they do. And so, you know, you just get so sick and tired of listening the misery. I don’t know. As a sports guy, I don’t know if anything brings me more pleasure than seeing Cowboy fans miserable.

WALLACE: Another target is young athletes blowing up their careers smoking a certain substance.

SMITH: Uh-oh.

[CLIP]

WALLACE: [Do] you tell athletes that?

SMITH: Yes.

WALLACE: I mean, I know they watch your show, but I mean, like with your…

SMITH: Man, these guys called me and say, say it for me, Steven, I say, Stay off the weed. I mean it. But it’s not because weed, it’s because it was taking money out of your pocket.

I am friends with Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg is one of the greatest talents we’ve ever seen, okay. I don’t know anyone who smokes more weed than Snoop Dogg. He will tell you, I have never once told him to stay off the weed. It doesn’t affect his money. So, it’s none of my business live your life. You can still rap, you still act. You’re still doing all this stuff, but Martha Stewart and everybody else you know, emceeing during the Olympics and everything like this. The guy’s phenomenal. Who the hell am I to tell him anything it’s not costing him his money.

I have family members, for crying out loud, who smoked weed for years. I have friends who smoke weed for years. I don’t have a problem with marijuana.

I have a problem if it’s costing you your dollars that you worked your butt off to ultimately earn, and then all of a sudden, you walking around like you a pothead, an addict, that you can’t resist passing, you can’t resist costing yourself hundreds of 1000s, if not millions.

Because I know that it has been done in the world of sports. This costs people that much money. Just because you can’t stay off the weed. That’s pathetic. That’s pathetic. And you’re damn right. I said it, and I say it now.
