‘This Will Not End Well’: Biden Campaign Flummoxed By Obama Advisor and Kellyanne Conway Teaming Up For Podcast

An unlikely pair teamed up for a new political podcast, and the campaign backing President Joe Biden’s reelection “weren’t thrilled,” according to a report by Politico’s West Wing Playbook.
On Thursday, following news that David Plouffe, who served as a senior advisor to former President Barack Obama, was partnering with Kellyanne Conway, a former advisor and current supporter of former President Donald Trump, Politico reported that the Biden camp was not responding well to the news. The bad vibes stem from the fact that Plouffe was considered to be a close ally of the Biden camp to whom they turned for advice:
“Trump is openly running to rip apart American democracy, and David Plouffe cares so much about stopping him he’s teaming up with the founder of ‘alternative facts’ and a chief Trump enabler to profit off an election he ought to be in the trenches fighting to win,” said a Biden campaign aide, who was granted anonymity to speak candidly.
“This will not end well — maybe this is the real ‘Bowling Green Massacre’ KAC knew was coming all along,” the person snarked.
While Conway admitted in her book that Trump lost the 2020 election, contradicting his continued lies, her steadfast support of Trump — and his apparent plans to run an authoritarian-style second term — “is giving an imprimatur to Trump’s brand of politics.”
Politico added that other Biden aides “begged off” commenting on the team-up, citing that “few were eager to piss [Plouffe] off and risk professional consequences.” Though there were some Biden staffers that were less bothered by the upcoming podcast, called The Campaign Managers, with one unnamed Biden official (who also used to work for Obama) saying: “We have a lot of respect for [Plouffe] and keep in close touch. Everyone knows what his values are. Democrats debate Republicans all the time. This really hasn’t come up much.”
