‘It’s Sweeping The Nation!’ Fox Hosts Gush Over Athletes ‘Doing The Trump Dance’
Fox News’ Emily Compagno and Harris Faulkner went wild over videos of “high profile athletes” doing the quirky and somewhat awkward Donald Trump “dance” in his honor during a segment on Outnumbered Monday.
On the campaign trail, Trump’s rallies became a venue for his unique moves, which include moving his arms back and forth, and up and down to songs like “YMCA” by The Village People.
Outnumbered co-host Compagno introduced a clip of Ultimate Fighting Championship athlete Jon Jones doing his best impression of Trump’s signature move and pointing at the president-elect after retaining his heavyweight title at Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
“The UFC event wasn’t the only place that we saw that dance over this weekend,” Compagno said. “Since his massive election win, the Trump Dance has been taking over!”
Fox News then played video of various NFL players gyrating on the field.
“The reality is, it’s sweeping the nation!” Compagno declared. “It’s swept a few teams, and interesting, there was some media backlash for it, you could argue, especially for the Raiders with them cutting it off. But, what do you make of all of a sudden these high-profile athletes, these high-profile champions, doing the Trump Dance?”
“He is the mainstream. He is the pop culture, for years and years,” chimed in Faulkner, referring to the success of Trump’s NBC show The Apprentice. “It’s also joyful, and that’s something that the Left sold and didn’t pay dividends on. It didn’t journey its people through the process of what real joy is.”
“The truth is, it’s absolutely sweeping the nation!” Compagno repeated. “Remember when it was RGB? Remember when it was, ‘Trump, bad. Orange man, bad.’ Now it appears as through the bonds have been broken and everyone is embracing the pop culture that is Trump — Trump joy! Some say it’s just a dance, but it’s what it represents!”
Compagno continued, “The unifier used to be sports until politics infiltrated it. Now, perhaps the great unifier is President-Elect Trump and his policies.”
“He knows his audience,” Faulkner said. “And he knows his audience is the entire American people.
