Tim Burchett Calls Biden ‘Shell of a Man He Once Was’ After the Pair Pictured Having Cheery Corvette Chat at SOTU

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) criticized President Joe Biden’s cognitive state on Newsmax after he was seen at the State of the Union having what appeared to a light-hearted chat with the president.

Appearing on Newsmax’s Wake Up America on Friday, Burchett was shown footage of his one-on-one talk with Biden, and he revealed they were just a couple of guys talking Corvettes.

“We talked about Corvettes, chocolate chip ice cream, he asked for my wife’s phone number, and I forget what else — oh yeah, he told me about how fast electric Corvettes go and in reality they don’t go that fast,” Burchett said.

Burchett revealed Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Lauren Boebert (R-CO) egged him on to take up more of the president’s time than he did when he spoke to him the previous year at his State of the Union address.

“They asked me if I could take up more of the president’s time than I did last year, and I think I did a pretty good job of it,” Burchett joked.

He added that Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who was next to the president while he was speaking with Burchett, “got a kick” out the moment between the two, which included Biden at one point going back to speak with Burchett briefly again. According to Burchett, this is when Biden brought up electric Corvettes.

The Tennessee congressman was jovial about his chat with Biden, but he laid into the president’s address to the nation and questioned his cognitive state.

“He’s a shell of the man he once was, really, it’s kind of sad and pathetic, actually,” Burchett said.

Rob Finnerty closed the interview by asking if Burchett thought Biden knew who he was.

“He said he did, but I thought, who’s the bigger liar here, me or you?” Burchett said. “I’m the 435th most powerful member of Congress.”
