House Republican on Fox News Calls George Soros ‘A Money Changer Of The Worst Kind’

House Foreign Affairs Committee member Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) slammed billionaire businessman George Soros as “a money changer of the worst kind” in criticism of a deal that will see over 200 radio stations owned by bankrupt radio broadcaster Audacy transferred to a nonprofit owned by the investor.

The Federal Communications Commission gave regulatory approval on Monday for the transfer of Audacy licenses to the Fund for Policy Reform, a Delaware nonprofit, and will have the investor’s son Alexander Soros on the board.

The House Oversight Committee, however, is probing the FCC’s decision to fast-track a deal. Soros, a prominent Democratic donor, will acquire the radio stations just weeks before the presidential election.

Asked about the transaction on Fox & Friends First on Thursday, Burchett launched into an attack on Soros, who he claimed wanted to “destroy this country.”

During the Second World War we did not allow foreign entities to own our radio systems. This is just an extension of that.

You have a man that does not have Americans’ interest at heart. He wants to destroy this country. He is a money changer of the worst kind. And he will destroy this country and the economy of it and this is why, more so than ever, we need Donald Trump in the White House. This kind of nonsense needs to stop.
