MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Opens Show With Tearful Remembrance of George HW Bush: I’m ‘Clearly a Little Broken Up’

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle opened her show in tears on Monday, offering an emotional tribute to George H.W. Bush.

“Hi there, I’m Stephane Ruhle, clearly a little broken up this morning,” she said, before describing the former president’s “last mission.”

“This afternoon he will be transported to the U.S. capitol, where he will lie in state until Wednesday morning, with an honor guard watching over his casket,” she said. “Wednesday will mark a national day of mourning, and a funeral service will be held and Washington National Cathedral. His remains will then be flown back to Houston, where he will lie in repose at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church for 24 hours. On Thursday morning the former president will be remembered in a funeral service in Houston and will then be laid to rest in College Station.”

Ruhle then choked up again: “Where he will be buried alongside his wife Barbara, his daughter Robin, who as you recall died of leukemia when she was just three years old.”

Bush, the 41st president, died at 94 on Friday.
