‘The Next President of the United States!’ The View Hosts Treat Election Win as a Foregone Conclusion During Cozy Convo With Harris
Whoopi Goldberg treated the presidential election as a foregone conclusion when introducing Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, one of several cozy moments between candidate and hosts on The View.
When introducing Harris, Goldberg milked the moment and built anticipation just before calling Harris the “next president of the United States.”
“We are thrilled that joining us right now for her very first talk show appearance and live TV interview appearance since accepting the Democratic presidential nomination, please welcome back…the next president of the United States!” she said to thunderous applause.
Later, when the topic switched to recovery efforts for Hurricane Helene and a feud between Harris and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) (DeSantis accused Harris of politicizing recovery efforts after she accused him of dodging White House calls), Ana Navarro also framed a Harris victory as a lock.
“He’ll take your calls when you’re president,” Navarro told Harris.
Harris accused former President Donald Trump of being the one politicizing the recovery efforts by spreading information FEMA and other officials have labeled as false.
“This is so consistent about Donald Trump. He puts himself before the needs of other I fear that he really lacks empathy on a very basic level to care about the suffering of other people and then understand the role of a leader is not to beat people down, it’s to lift people up. Absolutely. Especially in a time of crisis,” she said.
Joy Behar also lavished some praise on Harris when she took a dig at Trump by complimenting Harris in saying, “I like candidates who show up for interviews.”
The dig was a reference to Trump recently backing out of a 60 Minutes interview.
