Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs Grills Reporter After Loss to 49ers for Calling Him Out in a Tweet: ‘That’s What You Got From That?’
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs confronted a reporter over a tweet calling the 26-year-old out for a play against the San Francisco 49ers.
In the third quarter the Cowboys’s Sunday night game, Niners tight end George Kittle broke free for a long pass play to set up the team right around the goal line. On the plan, Diggs didn’t engage with Kittle and instead ran alongside his teammates. It was only when Kittle dove for the end zone that Diggs pushed him out of bounds.
Mike Leslie, a sports anchor at WFAA in Dallas, questioned Diggs’ role in the big play.
“What is Trevon Diggs doing on this play?” Leslie asked.
After the Cowboys lost, Diggs identified Leslie among a group of reporters just outside the locker room. He decided to give his thoughts on the tweet.
“Out of that whole play, that’s what you took from that?” Diggs said just a few feet away from him. “That’s what you got from that? Off of that whole play, that’s what you got from that? Fucking coward.”
Leslie quickly responded with, “We can talk about it more.” Diggs fired back by saying, “Talk about these nuts.”
“What were you doing?” Leslie asked as Diggs made his way into the locker room.
Leslie declined the offer.
