Fox News announced on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris will sit for an exclusive interview with chief political anchor Bret Baier, her first-ever formal interview with the network.

In a press release, Fox said that the interview would take place on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and hit the airwaves on Special Report with Bret Baier the same evening at 6:00 PM ET. The conversation will take place in the swing state of Pennsylvania, where Baier will broadcast his show.

The announcement came after weeks of criticism that Harris was avoiding media interviews with major media outlets, even after sitting for the traditional presidential candidate interview conducted by CBS’s 60 Minutes last weekend. (An interview that her opponent, former President Donald Trump, backed out of.)  In one week, Harris appeared on 60 Minutes, ABC’s The View, The Howard Stern Show, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and a town hall with Univision.

Harris’s sit-down with Fox News marks the first time she will conduct a formal interview with the network, which spends a lot of its airtime criticizing her and President Joe Biden. Trump regularly grants interviews to the network, even while he criticizes it. Fox News proposed a debate between Harris and Trump, which Trump rejected in an all-caps post on Truth Social.
