Inside Trump’s Trial With Olivia Nuzzi: The Naps, Insults, And a Judge Threatening Jail Time

Olivia Nuzzi, New York magazine’s Washington correspondent, has been an indefatigable chronicler of former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial. She has reported from the courthouse in lower Manhattan, where Trump stands accused of illegally paying to hide alleged affairs with two different women after he was married to Melania Trump.

Nuzzi has covered Trump and his movement since 2016. She recently spent months in Arizona for a rollicking piece on the senate race between Kari Lake — a notorious election denier who refers to herself as “Trump in heels” — and House Democrat Ruben Gallego.

I spoke with Nuzzi for this week’s episode of the  Press Club podcast about her reporting from Arizona, what it’s been like watching Trump sit through his salacious hush money trial, and what it all means for the 2024 race.

We also spoke about all the drama from an action-packed White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend, the state of the media industry, and how she plans on covering the upcoming presidential election.
