‘Simmer Down!’ Letitia James Drowned Out By Trump Chants At New York Fire Department Ceremony

Boos and chants of “Trump!” greeted New York Attorney General Letitia James as she attempted to speak at a New York Fire Department promotion ceremony.

Amateur video of the event went viral amongst conservatives on X (formerly Twitter).

Fox News also got ahold of video while in the middle of an interview with Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY).

Sandra Smith introduced the video: “This is New York Attorney General Letitia James. She was just speaking at an FDNY event here in New York City and she was booed and drowned out by those in the crowd. Listen.”

Fox then played the video that showed James walking up to a podium as boos rang out throughout the venue.

“Oh, come on, we’re in a house of God,” James said, but the jeers didn’t subside.

“First — simmer down!” James said.

The video then cut to James thanking Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanaugh and Fire Chief John Hodgens while chants of “Trump, Trump, Trump!” drowned out her voice.

When Fox came back to Stefanik, the congresswoman praised the hecklers for supporting of former President Donald Trump and predictably called James’ fraud lawsuit against him a “witch hunt.” Trump was ordered to pay in excess of $400 million in damages and was barred from conducting business in New York, thanks to James’ suit.

“Well, I have demanded that Tish James be disbarred,” Stefanik said, continuing:

She is unfit for the office of attorney general. She has not abided by the requirements of any attorney in New York state, let alone the attorney general. This has been a witch hunt against President Trump. She ran on illegally weaponizing her office against Joe Biden’s top political opponent.

It’s important you pointed out Sandra, yes, they were booing, but they were also saying, cheering “Trump, Trump, Trump,” because we understand that under President Trump we had safer streets, we didn’t have the illegal immigration crisis and the border crisis that Democrats’ policies, whether they’re Tish James or Joe Biden, have created…So, FDNY supports President Trump, New Yorkers support President Trump.
