Fox’s Kudlow Asks Oversight Republican If Committee’s Biden Probe Is ‘Coming to a Dead End’

Fox Business host Larry Kudlow a member of the House Oversight Committee if its investigation into Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden is “coming to a dead end.”

On Wednesday, Hunter Biden testified before the committee and answered a myriad of questions about his foreign business ventures and whether his father was involved. The Bidens have vehemently denied the elder Biden was involved or benefitted in any way. Meanwhile, Republicans allege that Joe Biden reaped ill-gotten gains from an arrangement they have yet to prove existed. The probe is part of an ongoing impeachment inquiry into the president.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) joined Friday’s Kudlow, where the host sounded a somewhat skeptical note about the proceedings. Kudlow pointed to the arrest last month of Alexander Smirnov, who was charged with lying to the FBI. The former Bureau informant alleged that the Bidens each received $5 million in bribes from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company on whose board Hunter served.

Kudlow asked Perry if the investigation is about to stall:

KUDLOW: You’ve got checks, you’ve got tracings of every Biden family member had a little company, an LLC. I guess my question to you, Scott, is this hearing, is this whole impeachment inquiry, is it coming to a dead end? I’m asking this honestly. Or is there more to do than can be done? Because I don’t think you got from Hunter what you wanted to get. I just don’t think that panned out. So, you’ve got a lot of checks, you’ve got a lot of suspicious financial activity. So, my question to you in the last minute is, what from here? Is this whole inquiry coming to an end?

PERRY: I don’t think it is coming to an end and, quite honestly, I think part of the untold story is the FBI, the Department of Justice, the IRS’ involvement, and the fact that they arrested Smirnov after years of paying him – one of their top witnesses – and the only thing he’s charged with is lying on this occasion. He didn’t lie on any other occasion. Just on this occasion.

The Oversight Committee released the transcript of Hunter Biden’s deposition on Thursday. During questioning, Biden had a tense exchange with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and told the committee he “was drunk and probably high” when he sent a menacing text to a Chinese businessman.
