Trump Melts Down Over ‘Sloppy and Tired’ Bill Maher and ‘Bimbo’ Stephanie Ruhle in Truth Social Rant
Former President Donald Trump did not appear to be a fan of Friday’s edition of Real Time with Bill Maher, calling host Bill Maher a “befuddled mess” struggling with “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
“The ratings challenged Bill Maher, on his increasingly boring show on HBO, is really having a hard time coping with TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME. He is a befuddled mess, sloppy and tired, and every conversation, with B and C list guests, seems to start with, or revert back to, ME!” Trump wrote on Saturday morning on Truth Social.
Maher’s guests on Friday included MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle and New York Times columnist Bret Stephens, neither of whom earned very positive reviews from the former president. Trump called Ruhle a “dumb as a rock bimbo” and Stephens a “Trump hating loser.” The former president even suggested shutting down The New York Times.
Trump wrote:
“This week he had “dumb as a rock” bimbo Stephanie Ruhle, from MSDNC, on the show, along with a Trump hating loser, Bret Stephens, who seemed totally confused and unsure of himself, very much like Maher himself. Steven’s should find himself another line of work because I am driving the FAILING New York Times absolutely crazy, and it is very hard, perhaps impossible, for a writer to write well of me without suffering the wrath of the degenerate editors who, with a push from the top, have gone insane. They apologized to their readers in 2016 for their complete and total MISS, and they’ll do it again in November. The FAILING New York Times is a badly run “newspaper” that has totally lost its way. Put it to sleep!”
Maher actually scolded his audience at one point on Friday after they laughed when he made reference to the second assassination attempt against Trump, telling the audience, “it’s not funny.”
“I’m being serious. This is the second time this happened. I said this before. There can be no fuzz on this. This is not funny! Okay? So. Okay,” the comedian said. “So, look, it’s not okay to wish it happened.”
Maher also drew the ire of Trump ally Laura Loomer after he suggested the controversial conspiracy theorist was having an affair with the former president, something Loomer threatened to sue over.
Maher recently predicted “it’s over” for Trump in the election, but he’s argued “Trumpism” is here to stay even if the former president loses in November.
“I would define Trumpism as a fear of the insanity of the far left, which is not completely unjustified, and therefore, anyone is better than that. Trump proves it because he is that ‘anyone.’ If Trump is okay, if he, in all his monstrosity, is still better than what you fear with the left, that’s a problem the left has to deal with,” he said.
