Trump Addresses Awkward 40-Minute Rally Moment Where He Listened to Music as Fans Fainted: ‘GREAT EVENING!’
Former President Donald Trump addressed his headline-grabbing rally from the night before on Tuesday morning and dubbed the event “a GREAT EVENING” despite it being derailed by multiple people fainting.
Fox News correspondent Bryan Llenas summed up the event in a post on X, writing, “Well, this is a very strange Trump Town Hall in Pennsylvania. It turned on a dime after two Trump supporters passed out/fainted/needed medical attention in back to back episodes that paused the Q and A format for a while.”
“The Q and A portion never restarted after four questions mostly on the economy. Trump talked for a little and decided instead to play his favorite music to the crowd. He’s standing on stage. We’ve listened to opera songs Ave Maria, Con Te Paritiro and now we are listening and watching James Brown and Pavarotti on video singing ‘This is a Man’s World,’” added Llenas.
“Trump urges people to vote and then plays the YMCA,” added the Fox reporter who then documented the rest of the music played at the impromptu concert comprised mostly of hits from twenty or thirty years ago.
Trump posted to his Truth Social platform, “I had a Town Hall in Pennsylvania last night. It was amazing! The Q and A was almost finished when people began fainting from the excitement and heat. We started playing music while we waited, and just kept it going. So different, but it ended up being a GREAT EVENING!”
Critics on social media were less kind and widely mocked the former president for dancing on stage awkwardly and cracking jokes. Vice President Kamala Harris’s also quickly jumped on the rally and posted several clips online highlighting gaffes from Trump. Axios reported Harris HQ on X roasted Trump for “saying he told his supporters ‘to go out and vote on ‘January 5th,’’ rambled about the fictional serial killer Hannibal Lecter, ‘[a]cted confused when asked if they should end the event and play a walk off song’ and stood ‘frozen and silent on stage as music played for 30+ minutes and the crowd poured out of the venue.’”
