Daily Show Mocks Trump for Hedging on Declassifying Jeffrey Epstein Files in Fox & Friends Interview

Daily Show contributor Ronny Chieng mocked former President Donald Trump for his answer regarding declassifying the Jeffrey Epstein files during a recent interview.

Last weekend, the presumptive Republican nominee sat down with Fox & Friends, where he discussed whether he would declassify documents related to the arrest and investigation of Epstein. Trump noted during the interview he would declassify documents regarding 9/11 and the assassination of John F. Kennedy but stumbled when asked about Epstein.

“That was a bit suspicious, right? Like 911? Yes. JFK. Yes. Epstein, oh, oh, man…No. I mean, look at the panic in Trump’s eyes. I’ve seen more relaxed people on the exit row of a Boeing flight. And why, though, like, why are you so weird with the Epstein stuff? It’s not like Donald Trump has any particular reason to not want that scheme files opened up,” Chieng told the audience while showing a picture of Trump with the notorious pedophile.

Chieng then mocked Trump for his response by noting “you don’t need Trump to declassify” anything as president because he will “just gonna leave it at the buffet table at Mar-a-Lago.”

He’s definitely in that file. He is in the Epstein files. He’s already like, “Look, that’s gonna be a lot of phony stuff in there. Names, pictures, my DNA. You can’t believe any of it.” He’s obviously not worried about protecting other people. I mean, this is the same guy who said Obama was born in Kenya and Ted Cruz’s dad killed JFK. Okay, now, now all of a sudden, he’s like, “Look, if you put some inaccurate information out there, could really destroy someone’s reputation. Okay? We need to err on the side of caution here.” Besides, it doesn’t even matter. You don’t need to ask Trump to declassify anything. He’s just gonna leave it at the buffet table at Mar-A-Lago.
