Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper Finds Vengeance a Top Priority at Trump Rally: ‘Rock Their World!’
Jordan Klepper visited his first post-conviction Donald Trump rally for the latest episode of The Daily Show and he found revenge to be a top priority for many attendees.
Klepper spoke to Trump supporters at a Wisconsin rally where most dismissed his conviction on 30-plus felony counts in his Manhattan hush money trial. One even compared the former president to Gandhi and Nelson Mandela. Another was driving a truck with a wood carving in the back comparing Trump to Jesus Christ. Asked whether Trump should target his political enemies if he gets a second term, Klepper found many open to the idea.
During his CPAC speech last year, Trump told the crowd, “I am your retribution.” In a recent Fox News interview, he also declared he’d have “every right” to target his political enemies after his legal troubles.
The former president’s words have led to some fretting among his critics. The View’s Joy Behar and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow even openly wondered this week if their shows would somehow be canceled under a second Trump term.
“Absolutely. Rock their world. Fuck ’em up!” one supporter in Wisconsin said about political revenge.
Klepper later asked a female supporter if Trump should have “mercy.”
“I don’t think so. He should go after them,” she said, adding that political vengeance is “probably third” on her list of priorities for Trump, which also includes the southern border.
Another woman acknowledged Trump may be up to “shenanigans,” but she empathizes with him like she would a child.
“It’s like if you have a child and they pull some shenanigans, you don’t like what they do. You love the person, but you don’t necessarily like what they do,” she said.
