Lara Trump Blames ‘Deep State’ for Campaign Hack And Musk-Trump Interview Glitch
Republican National Committee co-chair Lara Trump blamed the “deep state” for what she said was a “massive effort” to keep her father-in-law, former President Donald Trump, out of the White House, which includes giving “adversaries” like Iranian Trump campaign hackers a “free pass.”
Lara Trump appeared on Fox News late Monday to speak with host Sean Hannity, who conflated two topics from the open: the Trump campaign’s report that it was hacked over the weekend by Iran and streaming technical issues during Trump’s Monday night interview on X with the platform’s owner Elon Musk.
Musk blamed the problems on a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack, suggesting a deliberate attempt to derail the stream. Sources within X told The Verge that “there was a ’99 percent’ chance Elon was lying about an attack.”
Speaking to the RNC co-chair, Hannity began talking of the campaign hack: “We’re not dealing with amateurs here.”
He continued: “Now, they have gone hard after Elon Musk tonight and are limiting the number of people that can see your father-in-law earlier tonight.” The host also criticized the “authoritarian” move by the European Union in its warning letter to Musk on Monday, reminding him of the bloc’s rules against promoting “harmful content.”
Although he did not detail who “they” were, Lara Trump ran with Hannity’s setup, connecting the threads into a grander conspiracy against her father-in-law.
Yeah, Sean, I think it’s pretty obvious at this point, there are a lot of people out there and there’s a massive effort, of course, to keep Donald Trump out of the White House. These people are terrified. This is the deep state. This is the swamp in Washington, D.C..
These are the people who are our adversaries in many cases, they know that the jig is up, the game is over when Donald J. Trump returns to the White House and they are petrified of it. They’ve had a free pass for three and a half years that the people who want to do nefarious activities to us here in America, to our allies around the world, they’ve gotten a free pass and a free ride and they would like another four years of that with Kamala Harris at the helm.
Donald Trump is the only person who can deliver this country back to ‘we, the people’ – the only person who can make sure that the world is stabilized once again. And there are, I assume, Sean, a lot of people out there who don’t want to see that happen for really awful reasons, quite frankly.
