Lara Trump Dismisses Fears Trump Is ‘Hell-Bent On Revenge’ As ‘Fearmongering’
Republican National Convention co-chair Lara Trump assured political opponents and media critics that President-elect Donald Trump is “not hell-bent on revenge” and that people “should not be afraid.”
During the campaign trail, Trump made inflammatory promises, threatening investigations and prosecutions of political adversaries, including President Joe Biden. The rhetoric even reportedly motivated hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, fierce critics at MSNBC who decried him as a Hitler-style authoritarian bent on settling scores, to visit him after his election win to “restart communication.”
Speaking to The Washington Post, Lara Trump, the president-elect’s daughter-in-law, framed him as a unifier rather than a retaliator.
“Anyone who is afraid right now, you should not be afraid,” Lara Trump said.
She attributed concerns of retribution to what she described as widespread “fearmongering” during the campaign, calling such attacks on Trump “unwarranted and unfair.”
She continued: “What I think people are going to realize when Donald Trump takes office again for his second term is that he’s not hell-bent on revenge or retribution of any variety. Anyone who is afraid of that, I hope you’re already seeing that that’s not the case.”
Instead, she outlined a vision centered on economic prosperity, national safety, and global stability, asserting that Trump’s priority is avoiding World War III through a strategy of “peace through strength.”
She added, “He simply just wants the country to be successful and for our communities to be safe and to have a bright outlook for the future for our next generation.”
“You can mark it down now that I said it here,” Trump concluded.
