Jon Stewart will remain at Comedy Central’s The Daily Show through December 2025, Variety reported on Monday.

The long-time host who left the show in 2015 returned earlier this year to host the show on Mondays through the end of the 2024 presidential campaign. But on Monday, Variety reported that Stewart would stay in his Monday night gig through the end of 2025 and stay on as an executive producer:

“I’ve truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at ‘The Daily Show’ and Comedy Central. I was really hoping they’d allow me to do every other Monday, but I’ll just have to suck it up…,” Stewart said in a statement.

Variety also reported that the rotating group of anchors currently featured on the show — Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, and Jordan Klepper — will continue in their current roles. They, with Stewart as host, will broadcast live from Election Night on November 5 for a one-hour special entitled The Daily Show Presents a Live Election Night Special With Jon Stewart: Indecision 2024: Nothing We Can Do About It Now.

Stewart, who hosted The Daily Show from 1999 to 2015, was replaced by Trevor Noah, who left the show in 2022. A permanent, full-time host was never chosen, and several guest hosts took to the anchor desk until Stewart’s return along with the other regular rotation of anchors.
