‘F*ck The Norms!’ Jon Stewart’s Scathing Supercut Slams Joe Biden’s ‘Hypocrisy’ In Pardoning Son And Democrats Defending It

Comedian Jon Stewart unleashed a scathing supercut on President Joe Biden, calling out what he sees as “hypocrisy” from the president and the Democratic Party in their response to the decision to pardon Hunter Biden.

“Hypocrisy isn’t illegal. Nor is it particularly unusual in politics,” Stewart began during Monday’s Daily Show opening, as he zeroed in on Biden’s recent decision to pardon his son.

Despite Biden’s repeated assurances that he would not intervene in his son’s legal troubles out of respect for the rule of law—a promise that many Democrats touted as proof of their moral superiority over the Republican Party—he announced a “full and unconditional” pardon of Hunter Biden on Sunday.

“The problem is the rest of the Democrats made Biden’s pledge to not pardon Hunter the foundation of their defense of America, this great experiment,” Stewart said.

To emphasize his point, he aired a montage of Democratic leaders championing Biden’s promise as evidence of their party’s commitment to a fair justice system, juxtaposed with their awkward attempts to defend the president’s about-face.

“Now, look at the dance Democrats have to do,” Stewart quipped, before rolling clips of party figures struggling to reconcile Biden’s decision with the principles they had so vocally espoused.

Stewart didn’t stop at the Hunter Biden case. He cited additional examples where Biden took a moral stand against President-elect Donald Trump, only to find himself mired in similar controversies. These included mishandling classified documents, cozying up to Saudi Arabia, mocking Biden’s fist bump with the country’s leader, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis at the border.

“At every turn, Democrats keep getting caught creating a purity test for a system that they can’t seem to pass themselves,” Stewart observed.

In a biting conclusion, Stewart blasted Democrats for their inability to uphold their own standards and, in fact, used the political and judicial system the same way as their political opponents.

“Rules, loopholes, and norms: The distance between the systems Democrats say they are revering and the one that they’re using when they need to is why people think it’s rigged,” he said.

He continued: “Use the rules. Use the loopholes. Fuck the norms. But also use it to help people, not just those people who are related to you. All of us are somebody’s son or somebody’s daughter, and we all need that break, too.”
