Ainsley Earhardt Asks Why Joe Biden isn’t At Cabinet Meeting — Literally As Joe Biden Cabinet Meeting Clip Plays

Fox & Friends floated the theory that First Lady Jill Biden is in charge of the White House. but while Ainsley Earhardt asked why President Joe Biden wasn’t attending a recent cabinet meeting, viewers saw footage showing him leading the meeting.

The pro-Trump Fox News morning show focused on a recent New York Post opinion piece by Miranda Devine, which mocked Biden as a joke and flatly claimed that it “Certainly appears that Jill Biden is running the country, not Joe.” Yes, the morning cable news show was laundering a conservative opinion piece by reporter Devine, a Fox News contributor, as if her conservative attack piece was actual news.

Like much of the New York Post, Devine’s reputation is somewhere between partisan hack and shameless profiteer off of specious conspiracy theories. The symbiotic relationship between the two Murdoch-owned properties was in full effect Monday morning as Steve Doocy asked if Jill Biden was “running the country.”

“Yeah, she was at the cabinet meeting on Friday. She was at the head of the table. Here’s a picture of her,” Earhardt chimed in. “And I was watching Fox and Friends weekend, and I turn on the TV, and I see her at the end of the table. I’m like, Where is he? Why isn’t he at this meeting?”

As she asked, however, viewers could clearly see the president leading the meeting from his traditional spot at the middle of the table, to which Doocy interjected, “There she is,” referring to the First Lady. The New York Post article featured images and a short video clip of Jill Biden sitting at the head of the table but no images of Joe Biden, which could be the reason for the confusion but is no less embarrassing for all involved.

The irony of this rather small mistake is that the segment came seconds after Fox & Friends suggested Biden was not able to run the country because he yelled out, “Who’s next?” just before introducing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which conservatives have pounced on as evidence of his cognitive decline.

Being underinformed or confused on camera happens and isn’t always evidence of something nefarious. Fox & Friends would do well to show everyone a bit more of the grace that some of them love to tout to viewers regularly.
