‘She Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Fox & Friends!’ Steve Doocy Officially Invites Kamala Harris for Fox News Interview

Ian Sams, a spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, was a guest on Tuesday’s Fox & Friends and spoke to co-host Steve Doocy about the possibility of the candidate appearing on the show.

On the same day as the first presidential debate between Harris and former President Donald Trump, Doocy and Sams had a lively conversation about the disagreement over muted microphones, a rule previously agreed upon when the Democratic candidate was President Joe Biden. Sams defended the request to unmute the mics when the candidate switched to Harris, saying, “We have a different candidate now.”

While their conversation got a bit spirited at some points, it was a largely cordial exchange which ended with a formal invitation by Doocy for Harris to come on Fox & Friends for an interview:

Doocy: So, she did that interview about a week or so ago with CNN, and she’s going to do the one debate that we know of. Is there any possibility — you know, you keep talking about Fox News viewers, she should come on Fox and speak to their concerns directly. And we’ve got a big couch here. It would be great to have her on the program. Ian? Come on. Invite her. Tell her I officially invited her on Fox & Friends.

Sams: That is very kind, and I will relay that to the Vice President for sure. And I know, you know, she’s talked at the White House a number of times to Peter Doocy and Jacqui Heinrich, you know, excellent reporters who are there at the White House. You know, she’s going to be doing more events across the country, hitting the campaign trail just later this week, going to North Carolina, going to Pennsylvania. She’s going to be doing more interviews. She’s going to be doing more events where she can engage directly with voters and talk to them.

Doocy: She shouldn’t be afraid of Fox & Friends! Well, bring her on Fox & Friends then! And, you know, if she can’t talk to us, God forbid how she deals with [Vladimir Putin].

Sams: We ain’t afraid of Fox & Friends! I’m sitting here talking to you right now. I’m enjoying it very much.

Doocy: You are indeed, and I appreciate you stopping by. All right. You got a big day. Ian, thanks very much.

Sams: Thanks, Steve.
