LSU Football Coach Brian Kelly Slams Fist in Fiery Post-Game Rant Following Loss to USC: ‘Ridiculous!’

Louisiana State University football coach Brian Kelly made his anger very apparent after his team lost to USC in their season opener.

LSU — ranked 13th nationally in the pre-season poll — took on 23rd-ranked Trojans on Sunday night in Las Vegas. Despite leading late in the game, the Tigers lost 27-20.

During the post-game press conference, Kelly slammed his fist in frustration while detailing what went wrong at the end of the game.

“Hell yes,” Kelly said when a reporter asked if it was “disappointing” to lose despite his players performing well. “And that’s what I said to the team. I said, ‘We had some guys [who] played their butts off tonight,’ and we’re sitting here again — we’re sitting here again — talking about the same things! About not finishing when you have an opponent in a position to put them away; but what we’re doing on the sideline is feeling like the game’s over! And I’m so angry about it that I gotta do something about it. I’m not doing a good enough job as a coach; and I gotta coach them better because it’s unacceptable for us not to have found a way to win this football game. It’s ridiculous and it’s crazy!”
