An Oklahoma player got absolutely leveled on Saturday afternoon by an Auburn cheerleader before the game as his team went on the road and before the Sooners eventually gutted out their first-ever SEC win.

Most of the post-game discussion centered on the play of freshman OU quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. and a pick-six from Oklahoma linebacker Kip Lewis to put his team ahead in a physical game Oklahoma seemed intent on losing.

But one Sooner was on the receiving end of a physical hit before kickoff, and surprisingly not from a member of the Auburn football team.

As Oklahoma made its way onto the field at Jordan-Hare Stadium, a Tigers cheerleader dazzled fans with a series of backhandsprings. Most of the OU team avoided her until she eventually collided with defensive back Makari Vickers – sending both to the turf.

Vickers went down momentarily but dusted himself off and no one was seriously injured.

Auburn has been lackluster just five games into its 2024 campaign and blew a 21-10 lead in the fourth quarter to lose 27-21 to OU, despite winning the game in essentially every category but the final score.

The Tigers won the time of possession battle, had more first downs, piled up 482 yards to Oklahoma’s 291, and came up short as the team’s quarterbacks continued to throw to the wrong team Saturday.

One fan who watched the clip from the RedditCFB X account commented, “Best hit an Auburn student has delivered all season.”

Still, one cheerleader will always be able to brag that she welcomed OU to the Southeastern Conference by greeting the team with the kind of physicality college football fans have come to expect from the conference.
