According to country singer Elle King, there’s not a lot of love lost between her and her father, comedian Rob Schneider.

In a preview video posted to TikTok by Bunnie XO, host of the Dumb Blonde podcast, King provides a peek into her strained relationship with Schneider. While the two have appeared in public together on occasion, King said she often goes “four or five years” without speaking to her father. She also described him as “toxic” and claimed that he was not around for much of her childhood. And when he was, he wasn’t the most supportive dad:

If I would ever spend a summer with my dad, it would be on a movie set. I would just get lost in the shuffle. If I ever messed up a shot, if I ever was talking, I would get in fucking trouble.

She also recounted having to go to “fat camp” and getting in trouble with Schneider for not losing weight after spraining her ankle. Another failure on his part, according to King, was how he “forgot about every single birthday.”

But her issues with Schneider extend to his current opinions, especially his commentary about the LGBTQ+ community. Referring to a Twitter/X post in response to the “drag queen” display at this year’s Paris Olympics, King said:

I disagree with a lot of the things that he says. You’re talking out of your ass, and you’re talking shit about drag and, you know, anti-gay rights. And it’s like, get fucked.

Schneider said in his now-deleted post that the performance featured “guys with their genitalia hangout out.”
