Morning Joe Hosts Mock Trump’s Rage-Fueled Christmas Greeting to Political Enemies: ‘A New Low’

Morning Joe was thoroughly unimpressed by former President Donald Trump over his furious message lashing out at his political opponents over Christmas weekend.

Jonathan Lemire guest-hosted the show on Boxing Day alongside Elise Jordan and Al Sharpton. They began by looking at how President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden spent Christmas by calling America’s servicemen and watching the Santa tracker for the kids.

This was rather different from the all-caps Truth Social rampages Trump went on to claim political victimhood, rip into Biden, and complain about everyone and everything on his personal naughty list. As Morning Joe made this juxtaposition, Jordan called it a “jolly Christmas” while Lemire wished her a less angry holiday than the one Trump had.

“My daughter got a rainbow frog,” Jordan shared. “That was all she wanted from Santa, so all was good in our world.”

After Sharpton talked about how he worked with National Action Network to serve the needy on Christmas Day, Lemire asked him for his thoughts on the “anger” and “bad-faith attacks” from Trump. Sharpton suggested Trump’s more rattled by his legal troubles than he let’s on, adding “who spends the holiday with this kind of venom, particularly when he is a guy that claims to be this self-confident, self-made guy?”

Lemire noted that this kind of holiday message is to be expected from Trump, “but this one, even for him, hit a new low.”
