CNN Anchor Torpedoes Trump Pick Vance’s Claim ‘Childless Cat Lady’ Uproar Is ‘Aggressive’ Lie: ‘It Is On Tape!’

CNN anchor Rosemary Church torpedoed Trump running mate Sen. JD Vance’s claim that critics are “aggressively lying” about his “childless cat lady rant” with a blunt observation: “It is on tape!”

In a 2021 interview that sparked outrage after it went viral, Vance derided “childless cat ladies” as people “who don’t really have a direct stake” in our country.

Vance tried to address the comments on this week’s edition of Fox News Channel’s Sunday Night in America With Trey Gowdy — by claiming that his critics “lied” about what he said.

Church took on Vance’s explanation during overnight CNN Newsroom coverage, making quick work of the claim:

ROSEMARY CHURCH: JD Vance is now accusing Democrats of lying about his controversial childless cat ladies comments. Here is the Republican vice presidential nominee talking to Fox News on Sunday.

SEN. JD VANCE: I do think that being a parent actually has a profound effect on somebody’s perspective, and we should honor and respect that, but there are a whole host of people who don’t have children for a whole host of reasons, and they certainly are great people who can participate fully in the life of this country. And that’s not what I said, Trey.

If you look at what the left has done, they have radically taken this out of context and in fact, aggressively lied about what I’ve said.

ROSEMARY CHURCH: Well, Vance told Fox News back in 2021 that the US is being run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies.”.

He also said the future of the Democratic Party was in the hands of “childless people who did not have a stake in the country.”

It is on tape!

Vance made the remarks in a July 29, 2021 Fox News interview that was introduced by Tucker Carlson deriding politicians with “absent and/or alcoholic fathers.”

Carlson asked Vance to explain remarks he made in a speech a week earlier:

What I was basically saying is that we’re effectively run in this country via the Democrats, via our corporate oligarchs, by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made. And so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.

And it’s just a basic fact. You look at Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, AOC, the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children. And how does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?

I just wanted to ask that question and propose that maybe if we want a healthy ruling class in this country, we should invest more. We should vote more. We should support more people who actually have kids, because those are the people who ultimately have a more direct stake in the future of this country.
