‘Further Indication of His Congitive Degeneration’: MSNBC’s Jen Psaki and Nancy Pelosi Pounce on Trump Rally Comments in Real Time

House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi chalked up Donald Trump’s violent remarks about the news media Sunday as “further indication” that he’s losing his marbles.

Pelosi appeared on MSNBC with Jen Psaki Sunday where they discussed Trump’s violent rhetoric toward the media. Earlier, at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump told the crowd that someone would have to “shoot through the fake news” to get to him. “And I don’t mind that so much.”

“I think what the ex-president just said is further indication of his cognitive degeneration,” Pelosi said, continuing:

You saw recently how he was talking about whether he chose electrocution or being eaten by sharks. Something’s very wrong there. And it also is diminishing the power of the press, which is the guardian of our freedom in our country. So, I think people who might thinking about voting for him have to know that he can’t last as president for four years with his brain deteriorating at the rate that it is, and is clearly evident. And, they may be voting President Vance, which would be a horrible thing for our country.

Pelosi then talked about the violence her family faced in 2022 when a man broke into her home and assaulted her husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer.

“Coming into our house, violating the sanctity of our home, the safety of my husband, looking for me. Echoing what was said on January 6 in the Capitol. ‘Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?’ He was coming up to punish me for what I had said about Donald Trump.”

Paul Pelosi, who was 82 at the time, was left with a metal plate in his head from a skull fracture.

David DePape was convicted and sentenced to 30 years in federal prison, and sentenced to life in a separate California state trial.

According to NPR, “DePape, a Canadian citizen who has been living in the U.S. for years, admitted during his federal trial that he planned to hold Nancy Pelosi hostage, record his interrogation of her, and ‘break her kneecaps’ if she did not admit to the lies he said she told about ‘Russiagate,’ a reference to the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.”
