Jesse Watters Calls Out James Carville As Encouraging Democrats to ‘Slit Throats’ While Dismissing Trump’s Hitler Praise Report as a ‘Hoax’
Fox News host Jesse Watters called out Democratic strategist James Carville as encouraging Democrats to “slit throats” and dismissing claims that former President Donald Trump praised Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler as a “debunked hoax.”
During Wednesday’s show, Watters played back a clip of Carville speaking on the Unknowns Podcast. In the clip, the Democratic strategist said:
And I’m really not interested in being very fair about the whole thing, okay? I really don’t think we should have fought fair against the Germans and the Japanese. I think we should have, like, snuck around them. And I think we should have, you know, gone behind enemy lines and cut their throats, because that was what was at stake. I think we’re literally approaching the same place right now. And I’m not talking about everybody. Stop. Don’t faint. I’m not talking about actually slitting a political opponent’s throat.
Commentating on the video, Watters accused Democrats of pushing violent rhetoric, despite also airing Carville’s denials: “After Trump survived two assassination attempts, Democrats are calling him Hitler, saying it’s time to slit throats.”
He linked Carville’s comments to what he called a broader smear campaign by liberals after a report in the New York Times on Tuesday in which the former president’s ex-chief of staff, retired Gen. John Kelly, claimed Trump privately praised Hitler. A further article published by The Atlantic alleged Trump said he wished he had “the kind of generals Hitler had.”
Watters dismissed the claims, calling the report “a doozy” and labeling Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg as “The Las Vegas Hoax Chef.” He claimed there is no evidence to support the “cooked up” story: “There’s no recordings of this, and everyone says it’s baloney.”
Watters further criticized Vice President Kamala Harris, who he ridiculed for quickly endorsing the Hitler story without question.
“The VP who swallows hoaxes to go with her word salads ran to the cameras,” Watters said.
He concluded: “We know in 24 hours the highest levels of the Democrat establishment have called Trump a Nazi who should be locked up and have his throat slit. If Donald Trump wins, how are we going to have a peaceful transition? The left is saying Trump’s a dictator who’s going to turn the military on them. They’re just going to hand him the keys to the White House and pretend like he’s Mitt Romney? They’re not just smearing Trump. They’re saying half the country is Hitler.”
