‘That Is Awesome’: Hannity Gushes Over Chaotic, Insult-Filled Congressional Hearing

Fox News host Sean Hannity bucked the punditry trend on Friday night by offering a full-throated endorsement of Thursday’s House Oversight Committee hearing.

Trouble started when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) commented about Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s (D-TX) “fake eyelashes.” In response, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) requested Greene’s remarks be expunged:

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Mr., I do have a point of order. And I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words. That is absolutely unacceptable! How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person!

GREENE: Are your feelings hurt?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Move her words down!

GREENE: Aww.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Oh! Girl, baby, girl!

GREENE: Oh, really?

OCASIO-CORTEZ: Don’t even play!

GREENE: Baby, girl? I don’t think so.

OCASIO-CORTEZ: We are gonna move and we are gonna take your words down.

Later on, Crockett took a shot at Greene, referring to her “bleached blonde, bad-built butch body.”

Hannity addressed the fiasco.

“You just can’t make that up,” he reacted. “That is awesome. I can’t help it. I liked it”

He then welcomed Fox News host Jeanine Pirro to the show and asked her, “Why are people so offended?”

“I think it’s funny too, but at the same time, they’re in Congress,” she replied. “The truth is, we think very little of people in Congress and when they engaged in high school, Mean Girl kind of back-and-forth, you say, ‘You know, why are we paying these people? Why do they have so much power? Why are they in a position to waste our time and their own time like this?'”

“I understand,” Hannity said sheepishly before doubling down. “Everyone wants this hifalutin–”

“You like it!” Pirro exclaimed.

“Sometimes, you gotta keep it–”

“Sean, you like it!”

“I do,” he said. “I’m not gonna lie.”
