Fox’s Kilmeade Accuses Kamala Harris of ‘Theft’ For Adopting Trump Posture on Border, Crime, Patriotism
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade argued Monday that the patriotism and policies touted at last week’s Democratic National Convention amounted to “theft” from the Republican Party and Donald Trump.
During a discussion that touched on former President Trump possibly backing out of his September 10 debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, the co-hosts turned their attention to Harris’s promise to sit down for an interview before the end of August. Harris has been under pressure to meet the press as she’s declined to give an interview or hold a press conference since ascending to the top of the Democratic ticket. That has raised questions about where she stands on the issues, amid signs she has shifted towards the middle on issues like border security, being tough on crime, and good, old-fashioned patriotism.
Kilmeade argued that Harris’s campaign, by doing this, was stealing from Republicans. He claimed the “most egregious example” was Harris proposing no taxes on tips, a plan Trump proposed first:
I think people are really going to have a discerning look at what exactly she stands for, because you can’t even dispute what she stands for because you don’t know what Kamala Harris you’re fighting. Are you fighting the Vice President? Are you fighting the Senator, or are you fighting this new person who’s running on Donald Trump’s issues like strong on the border, fighting crime, a strong defense, red, white and blue? Excuse me? It’s like David Plouffe came in there and said, “The reason why Trump is popular is because of these things. So let’s give them to Harris.” And I think the most egregious example was the tips. But I didn’t know that was the tip of the iceberg of the theft of the Republican Party.
