Pat McAfee Trashes ESPN Live for Air for Its List of 100 Best Athletes of the 2000s: ‘What a Sh*t Show’

Pat McAfee slammed ESPN on air for the way it put together its new list of the 100 greatest athletes of the 21st century.

McAfee opened Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show with a rundown of guests set to appear that day. When he revealed that ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky would be joining them soon, he didn’t hesitate to take multiple shots at his own network.

“Dan Orlovsky — who’s been on ESPN all morning having the same exact conversation for the past three shows — will join us in six minutes,” McAfee said, “and we’ll probably just cook him and ESPN as a whole for a lot of the shit they’ve been putting out from ESPN’s people.

“There is a top 100 list that is coming out from ESPN people and I’ll tell you what: it is the epitome of everything that everybody hates about ESPN. What they chose to do in ranking the top 100 athletes of the 21st century — they only gave us 50-100 yesterday — what a shit show. What an absolutely terrible list, and we’ll blame Dan Orlovsky for that. So he’ll be joining us in about six minutes. We can’t wait for that.”

One of the most notable placements on the list is NY Jets quarterback — and McAfee’s friend — Aaron Rodgers at 91. A four-time MVP and one-time Super MVP, Rodgers widely recognized as one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. Other NFL players who outranked Rodgers on the list included J.J. Watt, Ray Lewis, and Calvin Johnson.
