Trump Acknowledges His ‘Somewhat Different and Strange’ Voice During Elon Musk Interview
Former President Donald Trump addressed concerns over his voice on Tuesday, acknowledging that he sounded “somewhat different and strange” during an interview with Elon Musk.
After Trump’s voice received scrutiny during his Monday evening interview with Musk – with social media users accusing him of “slurring” his words and comparing his voice to a cartoon character – the former president made a post to Truth Social on Tuesday addressing the concerns.
“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special – and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement!” wrote Trump. “Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange. Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation. ENJOY!!!
Trump was compared to various cartoon characters after he appeared to speak with a lisp on Monday, resulting in the topic “Daffy Duck” trending on Musk’s social network X.
Musk’s AI chatbot Grok even weighed in on Trump’s voice, suggesting that the former president may have been wearing “dentures,” before the suggestion was quickly removed.
In the recorded version of Trump’s interview with Musk, which was recorded through a microphone without the filtering and distortions of X Spaces, the former president’s voice sounded more normal.
